Brightspot Pop Up Mall 2014

Hey guys I am finally back after a week, apologies for not posting the second edition of Afternoon Tea Time and I think I am gonna do Afternoon Tea Time once every two weeks, but anyway hello guys and welcome back to my blog. As the title of today's post say I am going to share to you guys my experience in Brightspot Pop Up Mall 2014.

(Group picture! Me, Vira and Gianti - Brightspot Team)

Brightspot Pop Up Mall is basically a bazaar like event that showcases talented designers from all over Indonesia. What is inside Brightspot 2014? Basically stalls that sells food, clothes, accessories, stationary, decorations and even furniture. Brightspot has already started quite long ago (around 5 years I think, I do not know the exact year) but this year is my first time in Brightspot. This year's Brightspot is also located in the very strategic Senayan City which is not that far from where I live.

(Mirror selfie in one of the stalls)

Brightspot was pretty fun and it was actually held on the 26th of September until the 28th of September which makes it very flexible for people to visit. The entrance fee for Brightspot this year is Rp 20,000. My friend who usually goes to Brightspot stated that the previous years entrance was free but I did not really complain since the ticket can be used from the 26th until the 28th.

(Doctor Martens buddy!!)

The first thing I did in Brightspot was of course queue to buy the tickets and then receive the Brightspot bracelet which is like the ticket to enter. I was very excited since this year is my first year and I heard Brightspot is very fun and interesting from my friends. Since this year's Brightspot is located in beside the actual mall of Senayan City so the venue was quite hot. The venue does have AC but there were just so many people which cause the venue to be quite hot and stuffy.

(#ootd | Topman T-Shirt, Paul Smith Cardigan, Black Pants, Black Doctor Martens)

As you guys can see from my OOTD picture I was wearing my Paul Smith Cardigan which was quite thick, so obviously I was wearing the wrong outfit. Aside the hot temperature I was very happy since I got some things that I never knew existed in the local brand community. Aside the shopping there the food is surely a must also, since the food sold there is very unique and yet very delicious.

(The menu in Goods Cafe Stand, somehow this tastes way better than the one in Goods Dept!)

Overall my experience in  Brightspot was really fun and interesting at the same time and I would really recommend people to come to Brightspot. I am sure to look forward to Brightspot 2015. Plus I got two very unique stuff from Brightspot 2014, a black journal/notebook from the Black Book and a T-Shirt with cat prints from Wellborn.

(Obviously the black book is from Black Book and the black T-Shirt is from Wellborn)

That is pretty much it for today's post, I am so sorry if this is really crappy or lacking so many things but I tried my best hehehe. Hopefully my next Brightspot post will be better and more detailed. Coming soon is the Brightspot Vlog and it will be uploaded through my Youtube Channel make sure to check it out later! Thank you guys for tuning in and have a great day!

HONG KONG DISNEYLAND

Hey guys! Welcome back to my Hong Kong Throwback Blog! It is almost the end of this month already, next week will be the last part of my Hong Kong Blog. As I have said so many times before I am not gonna state any specific things (like price, duration or anything like that) because I did not remember all of them. For those who are new to this blog I actually visited Hong Kong in May 2014, so that is why this is called a throwback blog/post, hope you enjoy it!

HONG KONG

Day 2 of my Hong Kong blog ended in the very beautiful Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and also the iconic Victoria Peak. After that day we were actually really tired, because we have to take a cab back to the Central MRT Station from the Victoria Peak, we were so lucky that there was just one cab left and the cab was perfect for the four of us (my mom, my mom's friend, my sister and I). So basically after a long ride back from Victoria Peak to our hotel -Holiday Inn Golden Mille (in the Tsim Sha Tsui area)- we instantly felt really tired and sleepy but happy also.

The next morning was actually planned for us to go shopping around the Tsim Sha Tsui area. Hong Kong has tons of brands and most of those brands are not even available in Indonesia (Prada, Alexander Wang, Carven (for Men), Valentino (for Men) and some other more), that's why I was really happy. The highlight of the day was actually our visit to the I.T Store in Hong Kong, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS. Make sure to check out the store if you guys are going to Hong Kong (Click here for I.T's website).

(#ootd | Gucci Hat, Topman T-Shirt and Shorts and Louis Vuitton Keep All Bag)

After lunch we rested for a while in our hotel and then we went to the most visited place in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland! It was base on our own will to go to Hong Kong Disneyland in the afternoon, because we were actually avoiding the very hot sun and we wanted to see the iconic Disneyland Fireworks. We actually bought the Disneyland Tickets outside of Disneyland (I actually said this on the first part of my Hong Kong Blog), so all we need to do was just scan our tickets.

(Me and my mom)

As usual guys we went to Disneyland by MRT from our hotel, it took us around 30 minutes less to get there. I personally think that 30 minutes less is very fast because Disneyland is very far from our area (Tsim Sha Tsui) but with MRT it was actually really fast and convenient. As I have said before the MRT system in Hong Kong is very easy and similar to Singapore's.

(Disneyland City Hall)

I honestly did not do anything in Disneyland, I swear to God that all I basically did was taking pictures of my surroundings and going to the gift shop. This was actually my second time to Hong Kong Disneyland so I kinda did try every interesting ride already and plus I arrived there quite late (around 3 or 4 pm).

(Toy Story Land!)

The very interesting part of Hong Kong Disneyland is the Toy Story Land which was really cool and cute if I say so. I really like the Toy Story Land here, it is very colorful and alive, the gift shop is also very cool and they have legit Toys from the Toy Story itself.

My favorite place in Hong Kong Disneyland would be the Chinese restaurant in the central part of the theme park itself. The Chinese food there is just amazing and very satisfying since the portion is very fulfilling. The price was a bit pricey compared to the other restaurants or food stalls in Disneyland but it was completely worth the price.

We kinda rushed on finishing our food because we really wanna see the fireworks. Since the restaurant is in the central part of Disneyland, it is very easy for us to go to our position to watch the fireworks. We were right on time and our spot was magnificent. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I did take a video of it in my Instagram, go check it out if you guys want to (Instagram link in my bio). I didn't take pictures of it because I really wanted to focus on watching the beautiful work of art.

(Disneyland Castle! (I don't know the exact name LOL))

That ends my trip to the very iconic Disneyland, which was very beautiful and fun at the same time. I would say 'One can never be too old or too young for Disneyland'.

(Little Green Man)

Thank you guys so much for reading until this point and I am so sorry if today's post is very messy, especially the grammar. I actually wrote this post late at night so my brain did not function well but all I wanted to say is Thanks once again and stay tune to my blog for more of my Hong Kong Blog! Have an awesome day guys!

Afternoon Tea Time - Something Different

Hello guys! I am back again with another different kind of post that I have been really wanting to do. Today's post will be about Tea Time (that is pretty obvious from the title of this post). I will try to post an Afternoon Tea Time series weekly (each Thursday) anything that has a relation to tea, so here we go!

The British would hate me for doing this but oh well that's why the title stated 'different'. Today's Afternoon Tea Time is about the very classic tea which is Green Tea. Today's post might not have a really big relation to tea but let's just go on with it.

I am very sure you guys all know what the picture above is. Yes it is Green Tea Latte, I know that this is not very traditional and all, but I found this drink quite calming and relaxing like any other tea. In today's post I am going to tell you guys how to make this on your own (since I am lazy and not that creative I made this from the sachet ones LOL).

What you guys will need is of course the Green Tea Latte itself. There is this really nice brand that creates instant Green Tea Latte that tastes so good and similar to Starbuck's. The brand is called 'Esprecielo' and the series is ALLURE (picture above). I have to agree this is very hard to find in Jakarta (even though this brand is an Indonesian brand). At first I found this in Mini Stop (a mini mart in Indonesia, kinda like Seven Eleven) but then as I went there again to buy it, it was no longer there. After that I kinda gave up on searching for it, but a few weeks after that my dad found like a bunch of the ALLURE Esprecielo in Bali and of course he bought almost all of them.

Making this drink is very simple and it doesn't require any type of skills, because all you have to do is just put hot water and stir it evenly. But to make it amazing you probably need a few tips that I am gonna give to you guys!

Tips!

  1. After you add the hot water add a bit of milk (I prefer Greenfields because it somehow tastes better) and then stir evenly.
  2. Use warm/hot milk instead of using hot water for the base of this drink, this is perfect for those who enjoys creamy and milky drinks.
  3. Enjoy this Green Tea Latte with some butter cookies or British Shortbread.
Those tips are actually pretty basic, I usually do the first one since I like to balance the creaminess and the Green Tea flavor. But I hope you guys found this post useful and fun, I promise to post something better next week and of course a more traditional.

Victoria Peak - Madame Tussauds

Hey guys! Welcome back to my throwback Hong Kong Blog! Today I am going to share to you guys my journey after the Avenue of the Stars and until the end of day 2. As you guys all know I will not post any specific things since my trip to Hong Kong was on May 2014. So let's just get started! (I feel like this is the worst introduction I have ever done).

HONG KONG

Day 1 was basically about me settling down in Hong Kong and a bit of adventure around my hotel. If you guys forgot my hotel was Holiday Inn Golden Mille, which was a very cool place. Off to day 2 which started with us walking around the city to go to Avenue of the Stars. This place was really close to our hotel, about 15 minutes walk (because we are Indonesians LOL).

That day was so hot like I could feel the sun on my skin. Not literally but it felt like that and I could instantly feel that I got tanner. As I said  before I regret wearing a black t-shirt on that morning. After that we went back to have lunch at this really cool Chinese restaurant (I forgot the name because I suck at remembering names and I was to dumb to write it down LOL) and then we head back to our hotel and rest.

(The MRT station was literally like Singapore's)

That evening we head out our hotel to go to Victoria Peak, the last time we went there was the morning so this time we wanted to see it at night. We went to the nearest MRT station at 3 and bought the tickets to Central (I think, I do not remember it LOL). It was very easy to go around Hong Kong and especially the MRT system is very easy to be studied and as I have said many times before it is exactly like Singapore's.

The trip was about 15 minutes more or less, which was of course very fast. From the Central Station we took a cab to go straight to the Victoria Peak. WARNING! Taxi drivers in Hong Kong are awesome! It felt like riding a roller coaster but uphill with cliffs surrounding me. It took me like another 15 minutes to get to the actual peak.

(Victoria Peak, the best place to look at Hong Kong's night scenery)

We arrived there at 4.30 pm (approximately) and as soon as we're there we immediately take pictures! (because we're tourist and because we can LOL). As the sky got darker we went to eat pasta at one the mall/building in front of the Victoria Peak building. As always I didn't take note of the place, but the pasta was really good.

As touristy as we are (I don't even know if the word touristy exist) we visited the all time favorite Madame Tussauds, which (for those who doesn't know) is a wax museum that showcases to artists from allover the world. The Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong focuses more on the Asian and Chinese stars, besides stars Madame Tussauds also have political characters and important people in the world.

(The King and Queen of England feat. Me (trying to act all boss like))

Madame Tussauds is a very big place to explore so I highly recommend you guys to go to the toilet before you enter the museum, because all I remember was there wasn't any toilet inside. The Madame Tussauds ticket was a bit pricey for a museum but it is a tourist attraction so the price is worth the fun and excitement (you guys can also take pictures as much as you want!). The price of the ticket was HK$ 250.

(Sandra Ng invited me to her show in Hong Kong (just kidding hahah))
This last photo wraps up today's post hope you guys enjoyed it and hopefully it was useful for you guys. I hope that this can be a helpful travelling guide also (even though it was very very very unclear LOL). Thank you guys so much for reading until this point hope you all have a great day and keep on reading my blog for the next Hong Kong Blog!

H O N G K O N G

Hey guys! I am back with the first part of very early summer vacation blog (because I actually went to Hong Kong on May which was not summer yet). So anyway I already forgot the exact dates that I went to Hong Kong, so probably I am just gonna say day 1 and day 2 and so on (bear with me guys I am very weird and I am not good at memorizing things). Let's just get started!

HONG KONG

I arrived in Hong Kong in the afternoon (around 3pm) and then of course we (my mom, my sister and my mom's friend and I) quickly searched for a cab and immediately went to the hotel, because we were tired for no reason (also we wanted to put our things there). This is actually my third time in Hong Kong, my first time was when I was around 10 years old and my second time was when I was about 14 years old.

Anyway going around Hong Kong is pretty easy (it's basically like Singapore but bigger), the signs are pretty obvious and maps/GPS are often correct. So, I would say Hong Kong is an excellent place for you guys to travel solo (without any guide). Why Hong Kong? Honestly we wanted to shop. Yes, shop for clothes. LOL

We picked a hotel that was okay (not overly expensive but not a cheap hotel) but the location was amazing, since it is located right in front of a mall named K-11 and just 5 minutes away (by foot) from Harbour City Mall. Our hotel was called Holiday Inn Golden Mille.

(the street in front of the hotel)

So basically all we did in the afternoon was managing the hotel rooms and unpacking our things. Later on as it get quite late (around 5pm) we went out for a walk around the hotel area and found a Japanese Ramen shop/restaurant that was really good and refreshing (I forgot the name of the place and I didn't take any pictures also in the Ramen shop).

(Black Calvin Klein Polo Shirt, H&M Red Shorts and Red Bally Shoes)

That was what I was wearing for the first day. After we finished eating we went to K-11 (which was right in front of the hotel) to look around. The stores there was quite interesting, they have Watch Galleries (with brands like Burberry and Emporio Armani), Doctor Martens, Calvin Klein Jeans, Agnes B. and this really cool store (that has Lazy Oaf, Y-3, Comme des Garcons and etc). Of course there were some other stores but of course I did not remember all of them.

My sister and I got quite bored so we decided to split up with our mom. We took a walk and eventually we arrived at the Harbour City Mall (which was very big and very hard to miss). This was the mall that we were looking for! It is one of the biggest malls in Asia, with brands like Chanel, Hermes, Valentino, Moschino, Givenchy, etc until like Zara and Ted Baker. This mall was just perfect!

(Moschino Store in Hong Kong, Harbour City Mall, Level 1 (if I'm not wrong))

Finally I found a Carven store that has the Men's Collection (because the Carven in Indonesia is only for Women, sexist! LOL). I was so happy that night and felt kinda dissapointed because on the first night I already spent my money on something (LOL no regrets though). The Carven store was located inside the Harbour City Mall on the first level.

(That's me looking happier than I should have looked)

After that we kinda rushed our way back to the hotel because it was so freakin' late (around 9pm, that is very late for me LOL). So we went back to our hotel room and surprisingly my sister and I arrived on the same time as my mom and her friend.

After a good long rest, we were awaken by the morning sun and our call of nature. We had already planned on what we are going to do on the second day, which was going to the Avenue of the Stars! This was also surprisingly very close from our hotel, it took like a 15 minutes walk (because we're Indonesians so we walked very slow LOL).

(The view from the Avenue of the Stars)

Despite the really hot sun we were still able to survive the whole afternoon. Along the the Avenue of the Stars there were stalls and seats but still it was very hot because there were no proper shades and Hong Kong's summer is known to be very hot. One of the stalls there was an official Disneyland stall that sells Disney merchandise and tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland! Of course you have to go to Disneyland if you guys are visiting Hong Kong (it's like a tradition).

(Topman T-shirt, H&M Red Shorts, Carven Pouch, Gucci Hat/Cap(?) and CK Jeans Aviators)

That was what I was wearing on that very hot day, I regret wearing black but oh well. Featuring my new Carven Pouch/Document Holder that I bought the day before! Avenue of the Stars was definitely a must visit place in Hong Kong since it is very beautiful and it is also a great place to take pictures!

So guys that is basically it for today's post! I hope you guys like it and found some of the information useful. I will continue Day 2 and the rest by next week hopefully (could be less or more). Thank you guys so much for reading until this point and hope you guys have a wonderful day!

THROWBACK SEPTEMBER

Hey guy! Welcome back to my channel and today I am gonna welcome September appropriately (?). Anyway I am going to post some posts that was suppose to be posted like months ago (I didn't post it at that time because I was too lazy LOL). I will feature about 4 (four) posts about my trip to Hong Kong last May 2014, yes May (I know that this is very late). That is why I am using the month September as my Throwback Month!

Of course along the month I will post other things beside my trip to Hong Kong, probably I'll post my shopping haul in Hong Kong. I actually have recorded the haul since like June but the file crashed so I have to record another one, unfortunately I haven't record it yet until now. So, in other word this month will be a month full of hard work.

This month will also be a tough month for me because there will be no holidays at all and I just started my Diploma Program by IB, which I heard to be really hard and tiring. Honestly I kinda feel the tiredness already but I think I can bear with it since I personally like being busy. I am also starting my C.A.S Program which stands for Creativity, Action and Service.

Anyway please do look out for this month cause this month will be awesome (hopefully)! Hope you guys have a great day and good luck in September! Peace out! (idk why I said peace out tho LOL) Thank you guys once again and have an awesome month!
